Lea & Dave - Wedding

It feels so good to finally be getting all caught up on events! Lea and Dave were married December 1st. They're such a worldly couple... Dave is from the UK, they got engaged on the Eiffel Tower, and we shot their engagement session in Morocco! Ok, the last part was in Epcot's Morocco, but still! :) They had a wonderful wedding day, and I'm so happy they found us. Here are some of my favorites from the day:

Lea looking flawless just before walking down the aisle.

During part of their ceremony, the officiant actually tied a knot around their hands!

The sunset was KILLER! This is Lea and Dave channeling their inner rockstar. ;)

Their adorable wedding cake! I loved all the lilac accents Lea incorporated throughout the day, and how cute is the Eiffel Tower cake topper?

First dance... To a David Bowie song. :)

So, Lea is this incredibly gifted artist. She makes and sells these clay fairy figurines, and I think they're amazing. Her original plan for favors was to hand make one of these for each guest, but as they got more and more RSVPs coming back...
She decided this was a much better option!!

*Sigh.* If only all group shots were like this...

Surprise sparkler exit! Someone even surprised them and had fireworks going off as they exited to their limo!

Congratulations, Dave and Lea! Cheers!

Karin & Xavier - Engagement

So, on the way home from Karin & Xavier's wedding tonight, I realized I never did a blog post on their engagement session! Karin loves Italian architecture, so we crossed Disney lines and headed to Universal's Portifino Bay hotel. Unfortunately we didn't have the most light to work with, but we were still really happy with the results! I especially loved the look of Karin in her green dress against the painted buildings. :) Here are some of my quick fav's from their engagement shoot!

And just to give you a teaser, here are a few picks from their wedding today! (They were married at the Orlando Museum of Art!)Much more on that to hopefully come later on this week. Congratulations, guys!!!

Caitlin & Shaun - Proposal & Engagement!!

Around Thanksgiving last year, Nathan got a call from a friend of a past groom asking us to do an engagement session for him and his soon-to-be fiancee. Shaun was so sweet and was working really hard on planning the perfect proposal for Caitlin, and wanted to give the engagement session to her as a gift once they got engaged! Nathan thought of the awesome idea of having us be there to capture the actual PROPOSAL, and Shaun jumped right on it!

I was completely estatic to find out that he'd be proposing during the pre-show to Beauty and the Beast at Disney's MGM Studios (Now the "Hollywood Studios." Laaaaaaame!) Anyway, if you haven't experienced the pre-show, you need to go see it now. I mean it. It's a four man acapella group that comes out and sings 3 songs and then does a magical moment with an unexpected guest. Typically it's a birthday or anniversary, but they bring the guest(s) to the front of the audience and serenade them with "When You Wish Upon a Star." It's adorable. Though I've been a HUGE fan of this group since I was in middle school, I've never been sung to, and I think it's just adorable. Anyway, the group's name is "Four for a Dollar" at Disney, "Return 2 Zero" outside of the park. They're not your grandma's acapella group, and they sing songs like "Play That Funky Music, White Boy," Van Morrison's "Moondance," (Doug, I'll always love you for that one!) and "Saturday in the Park." The four guys are some of the sweetest you'll ever meet, and if you ever get the chance to talk to Sammy or Andrew (The two far right guys if you go see them live), tell them Jensey sent you and that she loves them very very much! :)

In the meantime, go buy their cds! I recommend most of the songs on "4", but their self-titled cd, "Return 2 Zero" is classic, even though I'm bitter it was pre-Sammy. And if you even remotely enjoy listening to Christmas music, pick up "Snowfall," because Marshall sings a kick-ass rendition of "Carol of the Bells." Really just go buy all of them, and you will not regret it. I could go on and on, but I think I'll save that for a later post. :) But seriously... They'll rock your face off.

That being said, I was so happy that Shaun would be proposing during the show! I wish I could say I was totally calm about it the whole time, but I literally had goosebumps while Nathan and I were waiting for the proposal! Nathan sat in the very front row thanks to my friends at the Theater, and I was in the very back with our long lens. The best part is Caitlin didn't even know that we were there until she saw the pictures a couple days later!

My guys.. Doug, Marshall, Sammy, and Andrew!

Shaun starting his speech after them being called down. Caitlin said she had no idea it was coming!

I love Marshall's face in this one!

Precious. :)

We did their offical 'engagement shoot' a month or so later. :)

Jessica & Milton - Portrait

On our way home from Lauren & Chad's engagement session, Nathan and I drove through Atlanta where we were able to take some quick shots of Jessica and Milton. Who knew downtown Atlanta was so pretty? Jessica and Milton were such warm people, and we look forward to hopefully seeing them again in the future!

Lauren & Chad - Engagement

This past fall, Nathan and I made a trip up to Memphis for Lauren and Chad's engagement session. I was so excited that Lauren wanted her session when the leaves were changing! I can honestly say that's the one thing I miss the most about living in Tennessee. This was Nathan's first time to REALLY see the leaves in full color, and I think he spent the bulk of the drive with a huge grin on his face, hanging out the window with a camera!

Lauren and I went to middle school together and she saw our work on Facebook! :) Chad is a total sweetheart, and they really do make a great couple. We're so excited for their wedding this June, as I'm always happy for an excuse to visit old friends!

So, the wind started blowing and I had this genius idea to gather a big ball of leaves and drop it over them as they were kissing. This was attempt one, where basically the ball didn't unravel at all, and instead just fell right on them. Oops! :)

Attempt two was a little more graceful, but still not quite what I'd envisioned. Next time, perhaps! :)

Florida should seriously re-think the whole not-changing seasons thing. :)

This last one reminds me of Versailles in France. Of course, on a much smaller scale! ;)
