Jamie & Stephen - Engagement

It's hard to believe fall's already here.. Because trees don't change colors here, the only way I can tell it's autumn is when my television shows come back from summer hiatus. How sad is that? I've been such a happy girl this week, though, because we've already been getting into The Bachelor (I know, I know..) and America's Next Top Model (I've even picked out my favorite girls!)

Our two FAVORITE shows are SO close to premiering, I can't stand it! The only time I CHOSE to watch live tv is when The Office and 30 Rock come on Thursday nights. I can't wait even one extra minute to see The Office. Anyway. You know where Nathan and I'll be tomorrow night!!

*Ahem.* Back to our next couple.. Jamie and Stephen were awesome. Our cameras just loved them, and I'm really disappointed we're already booked on their super cool wedding date (06.07.08)! Anyway, their engagement session adventure started in Leu Gardens, and ended at our favorite spots on Park Avenue. We even found this red abstract (thing?) to play with, and it looked great against their black and white clothes!

Well, enough blabbing.. On to the pictures! Enjoy! :)

Krystal & Ernest - Engagement

Krystal and Ernest wanted to go somewhere really unique for their engagement session; a place that would be new for us, too. We ended up going to the Gaylord Palms, the incredibly cool location for Mari & Anthony's wedding a few months ago! We had so much fun playing around.. I love that it could be 100ยบ outside, or pouring down rain, and we still get such awesome natural light to work with!

Oh, and on a side note, thanks to everyone who entered for the $25 voucher! I think we're actually gonna take the first two entries since the emails were pretty close in time. Keep checking the blog in the future though, because our 100th post is coming up, and we're hoping to launch a bigger contest!! :)

Carrie & Patrick - Engagement

I'm so bummed that I wasn't able to go to Carrie and Patrick's shoot! I was incredibly sick and barely able to make it from the bed to the couch in the morning, let alone from our home to the Polynesion Resort at Disney. Carrie and Patrick were in town from California to finalize plans for their fabulous wedding at Disney's Epcot Center, and I can't WAIT to be a part of it!

I know Nathan had a wonderful time with them, and I was so jealous of him when I was editing the pictures! Anyway... He totally made me proud, and I really look forward to their wedding! Our first Disney wedding! Yesssssssssss! :)

Lea & Dave - Engagement

Looks like I really haven't been giving the blog much love lately.. The first Root Photography client to mention this post in an email to contact@rootography.com gets a free $25 voucher to spend on prints!

Lea and Dave were just wonderful to work with. Dave's from England, they met online, and got engaged on the Eiffel Tower! So romantic. :) It seemed the only place fitting to do their engagement session was around the world in Disney's Epcot Center! We started at the pub in England, of course, and went around from there. They were such troopers even though it was POURING for the last 30 minutes or so of their session.

They're getting married just 16 days before us, so in all honesty, I'm ok if their wedding day takes its time getting here! I have far too many loose ends to tie up before our big day. I did finally find my dress, however! Who knew! :)

Anyway.. Happy Wednesday!

Anna & Nick - Engagement

Anna and Nick were SUCH fun people to shoot! We started around their home in Gainsville, and then attacked the UF campus. It was so weird going to the Gator stadium and seeing my rival's home turf (I'm a UT Vol!). We got some really fun shots around the empty bleachers and on the field! To finish things off, they got completely drenched in a fountain on campus.. It was a Root Photography first, so we were quite excited about that!

Anna and Nick found us through Liz & Sam and Cailey & Hal, and we were all able to catch up for drinks afterwards. It's couples like our Gainsville gang that make us fall in love with this job all over again. :)

Congratulations, Anna and Nick!! See you this fall!
