Happy Thanksgiving! :)

One year ago today, we were in Paris, France, with our best friends getting ready to shoot Zane & Lele's wedding! We had a spread of McDonalds' Big Macs, wine, and Italian food, and we watched clips from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade that had been uploaded on You Tube. :) This was my favorite picture that took tons and tons of takes but we finally nailed it:

This year we're doing things small-scale, starting by a little bit of giving back, and ending with gorging ourselves at a dessert party at my Mom's. :)

I'm so very thankful for my life at this place in time. I won't say I'm thankful for our job this year, because the people who make it as good as it is are our clients. Nathan and I are thankful for each and every one of you guys, and wouldn't be doing our dream job if it weren't for you inviting us into your lives, becoming friends with us, and then you sharing us with your friends down the road. We do not take you guys for granted at all, and I'm just so pleased that all of you saw something in our work that you connected with and felt like you could trust us with your memories. It's because of you we've been able to travel all over the world and meet some of our closest friends to date, and every year is just getting better and better. We can't wait to do this as long as you'll have us! :)

Our family has to stick with us no matter what, so I'm also extra thankful this year for our awesome friends who have somehow come to accept our crazy lifestyle! Our friends who understand our workload and never throw a guilt trip on us if we have to cancel plans because of a shoot, or if I decide I need the evening to finish an event... Especially the friends that never feel forgotten or left out when we go a month or two without calling. I'll get into my resolutions next year, but this work year has undoubtedly been the most challenging for us, and I look forward to changing our lives so this isn't something I have to be thankful for next year, but instead non-existant!

As always, Brian Adams gets a special shout-out for being my dream big brother / the best mentor ever, and for getting us into this crazy wonderful world of wedding photography to begin with. This is never lost on us, and when we count our blessings, Brian, you're always towards the top. :)

(This is my favorite picture of us with Brian, high-fiving not even a minute after he married us!)

I'm thankful for Huckleberry Finn, who brings insurmountable joy into our every day lives. I'd add on more to this, but he has a very special birthday post coming up soon! :)

Finally, I'm thankful for my wonderful husband... There's no one else in the world I'd rather spend 24 hours a day with. :) I still don't know how I got so darn lucky, but you are the most amazing person I've met in my whole entire life, and the dreamiest man ever.

I mean... Seriously! *swoon*!

I'm so excited to start a "real" home with you. I love you, I love you, I love you.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends.

Rebecca & Joe : Preview

I'm so excited to share this preview with you from Rebecca & Joe's VIP Walt Disney World engagement session. :) I think their session is my personal favorite from 2009, seeing as it was the perfect mix of an amazing, super-fun and happy couple-now-friends, great weather, and our favorite locations to shoot!

Then we headed for a spin at my old workplace... :)
Precious. :)
Rebecca claims it's Photoshop, but this is just old-fashioned good looks, if you ask me. :)
I'm so excited to share the rest of these with you guys once the new blog is live....... :):):) ºoº

11.17.09 : Preview Day!

Red cups at Starbucks, Christmas music playing in stores, the Magic Kingdom draped in garland, being able to step outside and not break a sweat... It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I'm working like a crazy person for the next 5 days so I can take a "real" vacation. I have TONS of holiday festivities all mapped out in Google Calendar for the next month and a half, and I couldn't be more excited! :)

We had a weekend jam-packed with photographic goodness, and unfortunately I came down with a bug on Friday night that's just now starting to let up. Thank you to our wonderful weekenders Jenny & Dan, Gantry & Michael, and Karin & Peter for dealing with my fever, stuffy nose, and exhausted self! As much as I hate that I was sick last week, I'm kinda hoping that means it'll be smooth sailing til Christmas! *knocks on wood.*

Because a post just isn't the same without some lovely photos, here's a sneak peek into the two engagement shoots we photographed this weekend, beginning with the charming Michael-
And his most beautiful half, Gantry-
:)
Just a few hours later, it was on to Karin & Peter's Baldwin Park session. Karin has the most adorable laughing face!
Hello, gorgeous!
:)
Thanks again, guys, and I'm so excited to edit the rest!! :)

Oh, and don't forget to VOTE FOR US! Please and Thank-You!!!!

Sick Day

I just wanted to step in for Jensey real quick and make a mini-post about her being out of the office. She came down with something the other day and as much as she'd love to blog a bunch of new stuff, I'm sticking her on the couch with some DVDs until she gets better! So let's wish her well and look forward to some new posts soon. :)

(Because no post is complete without a little photo love!)

Ooh, and don't forget about voting daily for the Orbbies!
We've made some great progress with your help. Thanks so much!

Lorie & Jon : Proposal

If I could put in a request, it'd be for us to shoot more proposals next year! I'm seriously in love. :)

These were taken on our trip to TN last week when our good friend Jon popped the question to my Lorie. Yes, they were already kinda engaged to be married in Africa next year, but it was about time to seal the deal with a pretty ring! I'll blog about the whole complicated story later, but for now, enjoy the preview. :)

(And for any of you guys out there thinking of popping the question, contact us if you're interested in having photos capturing the moment!)

Sarah & Aaron : Preview

We photographed Sarah & Aaron's engagement last week at a park in St. Pete. They were awesome and lived up to the high standards previously set by Aaron's best man and his wife, Kristin and Pippin! I'm so excited for their wedding this December, though I hope November doesn't go by too fast. Enjoy some of my quick favorites! :)
I think this is my favorite of the favorites. :)
Sarah is goooooooooorgeous.

Thanks, guys! :)

Kayla & Daniel : Wedding

Our tree bride contacted us just a couple of months before her wedding and was wondering if we had any location recommendations. We immediately sent her to the Maitland Art Center, a place we love so much we almost got married there. :) Kayla and Daniel fell in love with it, too, and I couldn't think of a more perfect place for those two to have gotten married!
When I saw Kayla's Anthropologie necklace, I knew it was gonna be a good day. ;)

Daniel was one of the happiest grooms I've ever seen. :)
Kisses from Mom. :)

I loved their set-up where the guests entered.

Their guitarist gave the perfect feel to the ceremony. :)
My favorite thing about the Maitland Art Center.. This is where you stand to get married. :)

FAVORITE. :)

LOVE her. :)
Some lovin' in the limo.
More lovin' at the reception, which was held at the basement in Hannibal's.
Have I mentioned how much Kayla loves trees? ;) I don't think I've ever seen a cake fit a person so well!
The adorable top layer. Favorite wedding cake ever, hands down. :)

They're cute like this with no prompting on our part. :)

We LOVE you guys. See you soon? :)
