Carrie & Patrick : Anniversary!

More brides have come referred to us by Carrie & Patrick than any other couple! Just off the top of my head, Carrie has brought us Justin & Lu, Erin & Steve, Jenn & Rob, Sara-Jayne & Gavin, Carly & Kyle, Marcy & Mert, Stacy & Ryan, Angela & Al, Cynthia & Shane, Renee & Shane, Lana & Michael, Ashley & Jeremy, Jackie & Jeff, Sarah & Jeff, Misty & Stephen, Heidi & Tom, Erin & Steve, and Christin & Ryan! I know I'm missing people in there, so please don't be offended if I'm being forgetful! I'm a little shocked I was able to remember that many. :) As pleased as I am for all the attention, I'm even more happy to have found such a great friend in Carrie.

Carrie and Patrick recently came down for their one-year anniversary, and Carrie had a day of surprises planned for Patrick. All day they did things reminiscent of their wedding day last year. Because I'm a bad friend, I only remember a few things: Carrie planned a segway tour through Epcot where they rode through Morrocco, their ceremony location, just about the same time they got married. Then was breakfast at the Boardwalk, the hotel that held their wedding reception. Her event coordinator surprised them with a private breakfast in The Attic, complete with Mickey Waffles, their wedding's main course. The final surprise was dinner at the Rose and Crown with a private dessert party to follow, right next to where their wedding day dessert party was.

... And here Nathan and I just had pizza and played video games on our 1st anniversary!!

This was their personalized menu from the Rose and Crown. Good job, Disney!
I think Patrick was surprised. :)
Because Carrie is that good, she even had Disney make a replica of the top tier of their wedding cake!
Some of their assorted desserts:
Here's their private patio!

Some firework magic!

My favorite. I can feel my allergies starting up again just looking at that smoke!

I'm posting this now in honor of Carrie's solo trip out here this weekend! I'm so excited for her visit, I can hardly stand it! Patrick, you'll be missed, but I promise to take good care of her. :)

Ashley & Mark : Preview

Just a few favorites from Ashley & Mark's New Orleans wedding last week. :)

You can't go wrong with a gorgeous bride and a location like this!
Umm... I can officially say, photographers, that our 5D MarkIIs saved our butts at this wedding!

More to come soon! :)

Ashley & Mark : Engagement

Ashley found us online and asked us to travel and shoot her New Orleans wedding!

Ironically enough, she contacted us last year as we were leaving New Orleans after shooting Kari & Wes' engagement and bridal sessions, as well as April & Josh's maternity session! Of course we jumped at the chance and were excited to meet her a year later. :)

Ashley is probably the calmest bride ever. I can honestly say this, because there were so many things going wrong when we met them the day before her wedding, and she was still all smiles and laughing it off. :) We had planned to do both Ashley and Mark's engagement shoot and Huxley's baby shoot in the French Quarter, which we thought would be relatively empty on a Friday morning. Little did we know, until we got there, that it was French Quarter Fest and the streets were not only shut down, but packed with people! We ended up changing our meeting location closer towards downtown and played in some alleyways.

On Ashley and Mark's way to meet us from Baton Rouge, I believe they had a bird crash into their window, which caused Ashley to burst into tears. If that wasn't enough, when they got to New Orleans, they had to hunt for a parking spot and in the meantime, got sideswiped by a truck. The guy didn't stop, so Mark actually followed him and then had to stop to fill out a police report. Just as we were about to finally meet them and start shooting, Ashley had a wardrobe malfunction and had to run and buy some new shoes! I think any other bride would have had a meltdown right then and there, but she remained calm. :) She had a huge list of last minute things to do before the wedding, and despite all the setbacks, we were happy for the 30 minutes we had to see them. :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention how crazy windy it was!
:)

My favorite!!
Who hasn't felt this way the day before their wedding??
It was about this time when Mark received a call saying his grandparents were waiting on his doorstep. In Baton Rouge. We wrapped things up pretty quickly after that. :)
I can't explain why, but this is my 2nd favorite from the session. :)

Ashley is adorable. :)

Off to bed, friends! Tomorrow's wedding starts at *cough* 6:30am *cough.*

Courtney & Craig : Engagement

Yay! Here's the 2nd engagement we shot in Celebration in the last month. :) I love shooting here. I mean, the bright colors and safe, pretty backgrounds are nice and all, but being able to walk one block to meet our couples and start shooting is priceless!

I think Craig sorta has a John Mayer/ Charlie from the Mighty Ducks thing going on here. (I guess the better reference is Pacey from Dawson's Creek?)

FAVORITE! :)
Courtney, you are just lovely!

Love this. :)

Yay! See you guys next week! :)

Nicole & Michael : Engagement

The next two posts are from Celebration engagements we've done recently.

The first is Nicole and Mike! Nathan actually knew Mike from his UCF days, and they were both photo geeks. :) When he got engaged, we were so flattered they chose us to shoot their wedding, and we're so very excited about it. They're getting married where we almost had our wedding reception, Casa Feliz, and they hired one of our favorite DJs, so we know it'll be a good one!

Anyway, on to the photos! They started out with a secret handshake they do when Nicole is nervous. I know... I'm pretty sure it doesn't get any cuter.

G o r g e o u s!
Can't you just feel the warm fuzzies in this one?

T-Rex, maybe?

Probably my favorite me-in-action shot!

Favorite. :)
Yay! We'll see you guys in October!!!!

Jackie & Jeff : Wedding

On to Grand Floridian couple #2!

Jackie and Jeff are just plain fun people. It's impossible to be around Jeff and not smile. :)
Jackie helped me fall in love with fiddle head ferns. Seriously- How happy is this bouquet?
One of my favorite bridal shots-

It was during this wedding that our groom passed out at the alter! I'm so happy it happened before the ceremony. Nathan was up front about to shoot the bridesmaids coming down the aisle when it happened, and he clicked a couple of photos. He felt so bad about it, but it is our job to capture everything, and if I were Jackie, I would have wanted to see what happened!

I asked Jeff if I was allowed to blog the following photos, he said it was fine to do a public service announcement: "Just remind everyone to eat something and don't lock your knees...
... Or to at least have someone else go down also." Yep. A groomsman went down, as well, and had to sit out the ceremony! It was crazy. Luckily everyone was fine, and in all seriousness, I can't imagine anyone handling it better than Jeff. He was laughing about it all afternoon, and it was such a testament to his character! So future brides and grooms, eat your breakfast and don't lock your knees!!

These guys just make me smile! :)

Classic.

My love! :)

Their reception colors were peacock-feather inspired. LOVE it.

Beautimous! I'm always amazed to see the transformation of these ballrooms.
First dance to Jason Mraz's "Lucky."

This flower girl came to life when Mickey and Minnie came in. It was the cutest thing. :)
A different kinda ring shot -

The end! :)

Stacy & Ryan : Wedding

I know it's been a while since I've done a real post, but don't you worry, there's plenty to come! ;)

Today and tomorrow I'll be posting two weddings we shot at Disney's Grand Floridian! First up is Stacy & Ryan. A lot of our Disney weddings are half day, so instead of starting with our bride in hair and makeup, we start formal portraits with our groom.

This is Ryan and his posse.

Stacy was every bit a princess and fit right in the Wedding Pavilion.

One of my favorite parts of the day was when she surprised their nieces with a carriage ride. In the end, I'm pretty sure Stacy was more excited about this than all three girls combined! ;)

I loved that instead of a bridal party, they had their flower girls & ring bearer stand up with them.

Thanks to Stacy and Ryan, I'll forever believe that all weddings NEED a confetti cannon. Seriously- It was AMAZING.
:):):)

Now's the time to say that Stacy was such a trooper on her wedding day. You'd never know by these photos, but it was in the 40s outside, and the wind just made it even more freezing!

I'm not gonna lie... I'm in love with the Napa Room at the California Grill!
Wishes!
I love that it looks like Space Mountain was bombed. ;)

They're baaaaaack!
Yep. He gave her a rose. :)

The end. <3

04.14.09

Today we actually had some time off, so we headed to the Magic Kingdom to spend time with my fabulous in-laws. :)

I love this shot of my previous job location. Yep. Before I was a wedding photographer, I made elephants fly!
Love, love, love these next two... Cinderella's Golden Carousel at sunset:
And after Wishes:
The end.

(Psst- Happy birthday, Mommy!)

Root Family Easter :)

When I woke up this morning, I was thinking maybe the Easter Bunny left me some candy and a chocolate bunny, but I was not expecting a full-fledged egg hunt, in addition to a pink Easter basket containing a Canon 5D Mark II. :)
He did this on his own. No... Really.
The best part of the day was going to break in the new camera. :) We must have looked hilarious to Celebration residents driving by- Me and Nate with our 2 huge cameras photographing a 6 pound dog in a polo shirt. ;) This was my first photo taken with my new camera! It's one of my all time favorites of Huck Finn... I love how it almost looks like a school portrait. :)
Huck and his crazy eyes!
Nathan, of course, grabbed the epic shot of the evening.
As well as this one... It's on my list to start capturing Huck's details- His snout, ears, paws, tail... Everything. I want to capture everything about this little guy. :)
I never, ever thought I could love an animal so much. He really is our baby!

Bahahahahhahaha. :)
My two favorite boys. :)
The end. :)
We hope you all had a safe, happy, and chocolate-filled Easter!

Love, The Roots. <3

Some nights Huck is so cute that I feel bad not sharing him with the rest of the world. :)

Happy late night, friends!

Michelle & Chris : Preview

I know I owe you guys a 'real' post, but I just wanted to post some favorites from a session we shot today! This October, we'll be shooting a wedding of an old friend of Nate's from the pre-Jensey days. :) We had so much fun hanging out in Winter Park with them, and I'm just so excited for their wedding!

Michelle is fabulous.

Nate snagged quite possibly my favorite engagement shot ever, darnit!
Ok, ok, ok... Real post next, promise. :)
