Christmas Eve : Our 1st Anniversary!

The Roots are officially taking the next two days off! We'll return your phone calls and emails asap after Christmas. Thank you for understanding, and we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!

(This picture was taken on our honeymoon in NYC! Eternal thank-yous go out to our very own Brian Adams, who glorified our wedding day and honeymoon in ways that will forever give me chills.)

I love you, Nathanial. <3

A year ago today, I married my best friend. That is neat.

Bean & Rob : Just Married

*Sigh.* I love this couple. Like, LOVE them. We did this shoot right after Justin and Lu's engagement, and I swear Nathan and I were on cloud 9 for the rest of the month. It really was the best shooting day ever.

So, Jenn and Rob (who I will from here on out refer to as 'Bean') were just married back home up north and honeymooned here at Disney World. They lugged their wedding attire all the way down, just for a shoot with us kids. :) I guess all I can say about these guys, is it's the best feeling in the world when we meet a couple and know right away that not only are we a perfect photographer/client match, but we're gonna be friends for a very long time!

We met them at Saratoga Springs for a few comfortable portraits, and they seemed to get right into it:

Bean is gorgeous.

Then we took them to our neck of the woods. :)

Yes, they were totally this cute together in real life.
Hello, gorgeous!

Little House on the Prairie, Celebration style. ;)

Epic, right??

FAVORITE! :)

Guys, we love you and can't wait to see you on your next visit! We're so excited to have you as part of the Root Photography family! :)

Justin & Lu : Honeymoon

Today is Lu's birthday, so I thought it was an appropriate time for their first appearance on the blog! We shot Justin & Lu's killer wedding before this session, but you're gonna have to wait to see that post. ;)

We met up with Justin and Lu a couple of days after their wedding when they were honeymooning at Walt Disney World. I'll get into much more detail about them later on, but basically, I'm obsessed with this couple. No... Really.

Love their shoes!

Justin took our picture. :)
I love when Nathan climbs a tree to grab a killer shot...
Seriously. How can you not fall in love with these guys??

Favorite. :)
I think everyone should feel like this on their honeymoon!

My other favorite. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LU! We'll see you next week!!!!!!!!!

Angela & Al : Wedding

Angela and Al were such a sweet couple that married a couple months ago at Disney's Wedding Pavilion. :)

I love this shot of Angela's Mom lacing the back of her dress:
Such a happy bouquet, no?
L O V E when couples see each other beforehand!

Angela and Al were our first couple at the Pavilion to have a string trio, and it set such a classy mood for the ceremony!

The string trio started playing "True Love's Kiss" from Enchanted after they kissed. :)

My view...
Nathan's view!

We LOVED their reception location at the Grand Floridian!!! The light was divine.
First dance to "So Close" from Enchanted... Notice a theme? ;)

I loved their pre-cake dessert!

Seriously... I love this location!
Paparazzi during the cake cutting:
One final group shot:
One of my favorite mirror shots of us! :)

12.02.08

This guy was helping a puppet sing and dance for money in the Metro.. But really, what does a puppet need money for?
Nate (and I quote), "Making my own damn art." In Paris' Museum of Modern Art which.. Well.. More on that to come later. :)  Can we all please take a minute to ooh and ahh at my lovely coat? Thank you.

Even though I'm here...

... I'd sort of rather be here. :(  Huckleberry Elias, I'm so very excited to celebrate your birthday this week!
(Yes, that's my wedding dress in the background!)

Bethany & Adam : Engagement

Bethany found us through a past bride, but in a small-world moment, it turns out her sister used to be my Mom's manager at Disney!

We had so much fun meeting Bethany and Adam, and since they met working in the same library, it was only appropriate that's where their e-session took place!

Favorite! :)

Adam's last name is "Stone," so we thought this was cute. :)

My favorite thing about Adam.. He needs a minute of preparation to get his serious face ready, and can only hold it 5 seconds or so before busting out laughing! :)

Bethany and Adam, we can't wait for your wedding day! :)
