Kelly & Adam : Wedding
Kelly and Adam found us through our friend Tracy Marini of Eventfully Yours, which as always, meant the wedding day went on without a hitch! The wedding and reception both took place inside, which meant for a cool day for their guests. :)
This was the view outside Kelly's "getting ready room."
Patricia LeJeune was Kelly's hair and make-up artist. We love working with Patricia, and I'm so excited she's been making more and more of our brides extra beautiful on their wedding day! :) If you haven't found a hair and make-up artist, check her out and tell her Root Photography sent you!
One of the coolest things about Kelly's wedding day was her garter, which served as her "something old." It had been passed around her friends, and everytime one of them gets married, they add a charm with the bride's name on one side and wedding date on the other. So cute!
Gorgeous bouquet thanks to Greenery Productions. Patricia working her magic!
This was our first Jewish wedding, and I fell in love with all the traditions that go into the day. This is Kelly signing the Ketubah..

The sweetest part of their ceremony.. After sharing vows, the Rabbi had Kelly and Adam whisper something personal into eachother's ears. :)
The Ketubah again..
The one reason I regret not having a reception.. The Hora! Nathan is the KING of epic cake shots!

Congratulations, Kelly & Adam!

Thankful.
Thankful.
That word seems so small and insignificant compared to what it means to me. I'm sitting here in my favorite place I've ever lived, in the same room with the man of my dreams and the cutest dog in the world. There are 4 suitcases and a camera bag waiting in the other room for us to jet off to Paris, France.. To shoot a wedding. Thankful... Please. That doesn't even start to cut it for me.
I'm constantly reminded that it takes a village to make things happen... Root Photography, especially. I think we're most thankful for Brian Adams, who got us in the business in the first place. It was by a chance meeting he met Nathan (who, all through college loved photography, but haaaaated shooting people) and saw something in him. I'm reminded every time I pick up my camera where it all started. Not only did Brian take Nathan under his wing and give him the hands-on experience he needed, but it was because of Brian's passion for the business that Nathan was able to see that this was the path he needed to take. Brian didn't just teach Nathan and stop there; he still serves as a constant mentor in our lives. He's become that big brother we sometimes take advantage of and don't call as often as we should, but he's always there for the important moments in our life, and always there to tell us how proud he is of us. We would not be here if it weren't for him, and that, quite frankly, blows my mind. Brian, we love you madly, and there's no other way to put it. I'm so happy you're a friend for life. Thank you.
We're thankful for our family who have all had parts to do with our success, from my father-in-law's support when Nathan announced he wanted to be a full-time photographer, to my mother-in-law's patience as our trips to visit become less and less as our business continues to grow. My siblings-in-law who let Nathan practice shooting them from the time they were born, to my sister, Amelia, who brags about us to our friends. My Mom has been such a help this year, for being such an amazing "Nanna" to Huck, whether taking him with no notice as we're running out the door because we forgot to let her know earlier, or her taking him for weeks at a time when we're traveling for work. As much as I get embarrassed about the extent Mom brags about me to everyone, it got us this wedding in France, so I promised I won't complain anymore. ;) Mom, thank you.
Thanks to our friends, the ones who have stuck with us through the years. I'm horrible with the phone, email, you name it (That's why Nathan's the contact person for the business..) and when we get busy, friend time is sometimes the first to go. This especially goes to Lorie, Jon, Brian, Amelia, and Nick... You guys are our rock when we need support and pillow when we need a soft place to land. We love you all, and are SO thankful.
To all of our clients.. We would not be here without each and every one of you. To all of you that have become friends, you serve as a constant reminder that this work isn't just about the pretty pictures, but the relationship between us and you. Thank you all for spreading the love and sending us to your friends, as word-of-mouth has become 90% of our business. We're eternally grateful for the fact that you love us and trust us not only with your weddings, but the weddings of people you love. Words can't express what we feel to you guys.. We look forward to shooting as many weddings as you let us through the years. I can't wait to stay in touch with you all and watch your lives grow. We love you all... Thank you.

Nicole & Bobby : Engagement
I met Nicole about 3 weeks into my relationship with Nathan. I was so nervous to meet his friends, particularly because most of them were girls, and particularly because I really believe I'm one of those only beautiful on the inside sort of girls, and I'm not so comfortable in groups. :/
Not only was Nicole completely warm and welcoming to me, but everyone else was, too. Nathan has always had a way of attracting the nicest friends you could ever imagine, and I've never met a friend of his that wasn't genuine. This was most definitely the case with Nicole. :)
We were so bummed to hear that Nicole and Bobby's wedding venue came with a photographer, but they still wanted us to shoot a few engagement shots! Nicole was so excited about the shoot that we both got emails and Facebook messages from her letting us know just how much she was looking forward to the pictures. Hopefully we exceeded her expectations! I know I love them! <3

The love of my life!

Favorite. :)
Nicole, we wish you and Bobby the very best with your wedding plans!! Don't be strangers, ok? :)

Invisible Hamburger!
We've been SO busy and stressed with everything coming up that I love laughing out loud when I'm editing. Here's the DJ from Jennika & Brandon's wedding eating his invisible hamburger... We tend to get pictures like this every couple weddings, so I thought I'd share for once. :)

Michelle & Mike : Wedding
I felt the need to do at least one more post before running to the airport. Michelle actually went to high school with Nathan! She and Mike contacted us a while ago, and we were stoked they decided to go with us. :) We've done some weddings for girls I went to high school with (April, Alicia, and Lauren), and now it's Nathan's turn!
Michelle and Mike were married in Sorrento, Florida with close friends and family, and they're having an additional reception in Ohio this January which we're crazy excited for.
Michelle wore, quite possibly, my favorite bridal shoes of all time.
We're working on a blog makeover where we'll be showcasing our favorite vendors, and this guy will be topping the list. This is Lee Forrest the florist, and his work is nothing short of magic. If you haven't found a florist for your wedding (and even if you have, for that matter), he's the best!
Hello, gorgeous!Favorite of the day, I'm thinking. :)
Mike, his dad, and brothers goofing around.

I love when a bride gets emotional..... But even more when a groom does. :)

The backdrop Lee created was breathtaking.

They're so stinkin' cute..The first dance was to "Tiny Dancer," I believe, because Mike proposed after an Elton John concert.
Last dance to "New York." I believe this was when one of the family members busted out a tambourine. :)
Michelle and Mike, we'll see you guys in JANUARY! We can't wait!! :)

Lana & Mike : Vow Renewal
I'm about to go to bed, but I just wanted to love on the blog a bit first! Lana and Mike decided to have a vow renewal here at Disney World, and Nathan and I were lucky enough to be given the chance to capture it!
She was taken to the Wedding Pavilion in this vintage car, driven by Dick. He's my favorite.
Lana's sister helping her gussy up.Isn't she gorgeous??
Goin' to the chapel..Another Lorie day! Yay! Nathan was afraid of me posting this, but I couldn't help myself. ;)
From the window of the Wedding Pavilion, the bride and groom can see Cinderella Castle while swapping vows. Nathan got this shot before the ceremony.. Doesn't she look epic?

Lana and Mike with their adorable little girl!
Told you she was cute!

The main reason we love having Lorie? (Kidding, of course. Well.. Sort of!) ;)
I'm still waiting to see an ugly Disney cake.
First dance love!Lana and her daddy:
Mike and his mom:
The cake cutting got a 'lil messy...
Bouquet toss! (FYI- I ALWAYS spell bouquet wrong the first time. Always. The end.)My favorite Disney DJ!
The end. :)

Mona & Jay : Wedding
Mona and Jay were one of the happiest couples we've ever met. I always get nervous right before meeting a couple for the first time, (especially if it's on their wedding day!) but Mona and Jay couldn't have been a better fit for us. :)
I know I don't post group photos too often, but I loved this set:
Did I mention that they got married in Epcot's Japan Pavillion? Because they totally did. I don't think there are many ways to top an Epcot wedding! (Except eloping in Connecticut. Obviously.)
Oh, and instead of flowers, the girls had parasols, which totally fit the location. What's better than shooting an awesome couple in a killer location? Having your best friend there to assist! :)
I want to shoot every wedding in Epcot. Please?

LOVE IT!
Then we took a walk over to Italy for some pictures of the newlyweds..
Mona was gorgeous!
Happiest couple ever!

Some more fabulous Disney cake love..
.. And some repeat wedding crashers. ;)
